Return of the Divas

Some of the biggest names in pop music will be making a comeback on the airwaves in the coming few months. Janet, Mariah and Madonna will definately battle it out once again to determine who is the biggest selling female artiste of all time. DIESELFREAK will be highly anticipating thier 'Special Limited Ultra Deluxe Japanese Edition with Bonus tracks & DVD' releases... hehehe.

But closer to home, our very own Diva is also all set to make a splash in the international arena. Ning's third english album, EastToWest is set to hit stores on 28 Feb 08. Meanwhile, the lead single, 'Age of Pollution' is already making an impact on the local airwaves. So get your dancing shoes on and groove to Ning's new and exciting classtronic sound. I like... :)

Bristol calling

I recieved something very special in the mail today: my postgraduate prospectus from my old alma mater, the University of Bristol. Browsing through the pamphlets and looking at the pictures brought back many a fond memories back in my undergrad days there. Bliss...

I think i have mentioned this before, one of my broad ambitions for 2008 is to, godwilling, pursue my further studies. I think its about time to undertake this sabbatical, after 5 long years in the Bank. A break from slouching infront of the PC all day would be good, and taking up the semi-urgent lifestyle of a 'mature' student would be even better.

With the prospectus in hand, now begins the process of filling up forms (memo to self: need to order my result transcript) and preparing for scholarship presentations and interviews. Though nothing is set in stone yet, if all goes as planned, i intend to read Msc Economics, Finance & Management back in Bristol. I am also looking to other suitable courses, and in other uni's as well... maybe for a change of scenery i might try and apply the States or Australia.

So watch this space for further developments... fingers crossed Dieselfreak may finally update his latest shopping escapade at either the London, NY or San Fransisco flagship store.

My highly desirable Diesel finds

I always look forward to my visits to Singapore. Not only that it is a great place for site-seeing, but the shopping experiance there is unrivalled. Although KL is fast catching up, the breadth of brands and variety of items available, as well as the ever friendly and helpful sales attendents in Singapore makes it very tough to beat (the fact that its sale season doesnt hurt either).

High on my list of priorities during my recent escapade is to check out two signifant additions to Diesel's growing stable of products: Adidas Originals Denim by Diesel jeans and the Diesel Fuel For Life fragrance. While i have a strong feeling that both will reach our shores in the coming months... there is no better feeling than being the first owner of these having these highly desirable items in the country ( i ALWAYS tell myself that, hehehe...)

First is a stopover to Adidas Originals Flagship @ Raffles City. From the outside, images from the advertising campaign, "83 original ways to successfully waste your time' greeted us, hinting at the goodies inside...
From the outside looking in.. Oh sorry, the inside looking out.

The long sought after jeans... bliss :)

Trying out the ADIVIKER unwashed... and in 28Wx30L size some more! Things are lookin' good

The all important Adidas Originals Trefoil logo...

Signature question," Do you have a copy of the catalogue?"

Happy camper...

PPC after some successful shopping therapy. Thanks hadzryzal for being my shopping buddy as always (check out the freebie Adidas-Diesel badge and the hidden Ed Hardy shopping bag)

Next stop... DFS Galleria next door. How very conveniant. Guess what we found there?
DFS is the only store selling this until it officially launches in April.

Smellin' good,as I expected it would be...

PS: As a side visit before gracing the Diesel store proper @ Forum , we went to Wooonderland at Wheelock Place to check out 55DSL, Diesel's adventure sportwear line. However, the range is limited: there are some T-shirts and a couple of jeans. Nothing quite caught my fancy though. Perhaps next visit eh?

The year of Ratatouille

Chinese New Year
2008 - The year of the rat

THE RAT
2008, 1996, 1984, 1972, 1960, 1948

Rats are perfectionists. They communicate extremely well, are quick-witted, level headed and always alert. They choose their friends carefully and dote on children. Rats are great strategists and make good politicians, but most importantly, their intuition enables them to suss out the enemy quite early in the game. Rats are shrewd and know how to amass wealth. They’ll gladly spend on their loved ones while outsiders will find them miserly. Their adaptability and clever manoeuvring will see them thumbing their nose at even the tightest spot. But they can be quick-tempered and overly critical, making them edgy, nervous and a downright nag with things don’t go their way. They have an opportunistic trait that will see them wheeling and dealing in exploiting situations for self-benefit.

ps: I will be celebrating this Lunar year at Singapore :) To the rest, have a safe journey home.

Diesel Fuel For Life: coming soon to Malaysia!

This may be the best piece of news Dieselfreak has heard for a while! Diesel's flagship fragrance will be making its debut on our shores in March 2008. Sources say that the fragrance will most likely be launched in Isetan The Gardens, with the prices (for him) ranging from RM129 for 50ml vial to RM199 for 75ml vial.

Fuel For Life is the fourth iteration for Diesel in its fragrance range. Those before it is Diesel 'Plus Plus', 'Zero Plus' (my favourite) and 'Green'. I havent had a sniff of the latest offering, hoping to do so during my Singapore getaway (read: shopping spree) this weekend. But the liner notes may give some 'hints' (pun intended) at what to expect:

Fuel For Life For Her was created by Annick Menardo and Thiery Vasseur and is a chypre-floral, with top notes of mandarin and pink pepper, heart notes of blackcurrant and jasmine and patchouli and musk at the base of the olfactory pyramid.

Fuel For Life For Him belongs to the fougere-powdery scent family. Noses Annick Menardo and Jacques Cavallier created the For Him scent, which has top notes of anise and grapefruit, middle notes of raspberry and lavender and base notes of heliotrope and dry woods.

I am already sold at the mere mention of a 'fougere-powdery scent'. Can't wait to use it, with caution of course, hehehe...
